In September 2006 Independance will be re-launching as a centre for innovation and access in Urban Arts and Culture, which supports artists, champions diversity and most significantly creates opportunities for young people to engage in the arts.

Having become recognised as a key dance resource in South London, Independance has, over the last three years, made a name for itself in the nurturing of emerging black artists from all over the capital and in the nationwide development of Hip Hop Dance, both in performance and in training.

The development of education projects has always been an important part of the Independance programme and that commitment has grown significantly. This is now central to our plans for the future.

The development of our work will now be focused on three key initiatives:

Inspire - Youth Training Programme
